As most observers expected, Josh “The Warmaster” Barnett made quick work of Nandor Guelmino at the final Strikeforce event last night in Oklahoma City to further heighten speculation as to what he will do next. With Strikeforce’s doors now closed, many throughout the MMA world are wondering if the 35 year-old vet will return to the UFC where he was once champion.

Speaking after the submission win, Barnett was asked about his future plans and stated (quote via MMA Weekly):

“So you’re asking me if I’m going to go over to the UFC like every other schmuck-jabroni reporter has been asking me this whole time. Am I going to go to the UFC? I have no idea where I’m going to end up at this point. But you know what there are a lot of heavyweights out there in the world, sacked away in their little organizations, and all I’ve got to say to them is run cowards!”

Barnett (32-6) is 9-1 in his last 10 bouts and his only loss during that time came via unanimous decision against Daniel Cormier in May. Since 2006, Barnett has scored victories over veterans like Gilbert Yvel, Jeff Monson, Sergei Kharitonov, and Pedro Rizzo.
