Rafael dos Anjos – Islam Makhachev Changed to Five Round, Headliner
By FCF Staff
After their first, scheduled fight fell through last month, Rafael dos Anjos and Islam Makhachev are now going to fight in a five round, main event.
The two were supposed to fight at UFC 254 on October 24th, in a three round bout. But, the fight was cancelled when dos Anjos tested positive for COVID-19.
This weekend, however, the UFC confirmed that the lightweights are going to fight in the headliner of the November 14th, UFC Vegas 14 event.
Dos Anjos (29-13) is returning to the lightweight division after competing at welterweight since 2016. Most recently the former lightweight champ dropped a decision loss to Michael Chiesa in January.
Makhacheve (18-1) hasn’t fought since September, 2019, when he recorded a decision win over Davi Ramos.
