Rafael dos Anjos Says he Would “Hurt” Conor McGregor, Finish Him Faster Than Nate Diaz Did

Rafael dos Anjos will face Eddie Alvarez in a couple of weeks time, but the UFC’s lightweight champ’s still interested in battling Conor McGregor down the line.

Dos Anjos was scheduled to defend the lightweight title against McGregor back in March, but was forced to withdraw due to a broken foot. Nate Diaz stepped in on short notice to fight McGregor on March 5th, however, and submitted the Irish star in round two.

Well, in advance of RDA’s July 7th bout with Alvarez, and McGregor’s August 20th rematch with Diaz, the Brazilian stated this about the Irish star (quote via MMA Junkie.com):

“Against me … [the finish] should be even earlier, I would hurt that guy,” offered dos Anjos. “He will get hurt one day, and I think it will not be funny if I say something to him.”

“If this fight happens down the road I will be there,” dos Anjos said. “If UFC thinks he deserves a lightweight shot I will be there.”

RDA – Alvarez will headline UFC FN 90, which will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. UFC 202, and McGregor – Diaz II, will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
