Renan Barao Heading to 145, Will Fight Jeremy Stephens Next
By FCF Staff
After months of speculation as to what would come next for Renan Barao, it looks as though the former bantamweight champ is indeed headed to 145, and will fight Jeremy Stephens.
Barao (33-3) has decided to make the move following his second, stoppage loss to TJ Dillashaw last summer. According to reports from Combate and MMA Fighting.com, the bout with Stephens will take place on May 29th at UFC Fight Night 88.
No venue or location has been confirmed for the card, and the UFC has not made any announcement regarding Barao-Stephens.
Stephens (24-12), meanwhile, is coming off a decision loss to Max Holloway in December. The heavy handed fighter is currently ranked #9 in the 145 division.
