Report: “Rampage” Jackson Fighting Glover Teixeira at UFC 153
By FCF Staff
Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will fight the man Mauricio “Shogun” Rua recently turned down, as the former light-heavyweight champion has reportedly agreed to fight Glover Teixeira at UFC 153.
The bout, which is expected to take place October 13th in Rio de Janeiro, was reported by the Brazilian outlet Globo.
Jackson (32-10) is coming off back-to-back losses to Jon Jones and Ryan Bader after scoring wins over Lyoto Machida and Matt Hamill.
The reported fight could be the 34 year-old fighter’s last with the UFC, as Jackson has expressed openly his desire to leave the promotion once his current contract is done.
Teixeira (18-2) is coming off a successful Octagon debut, as the 32 year-old vet scored a first round, submission win over Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 146 in May.
The Brazilian light-heavyweight has won 16 straight fights.
