Report: “War Machine” Stops Roger Huerta at UWF

"War Machine"

By FCF Staff

Fighting for the first time since July, 2010 and after completing a recent prison sentence, “War Machine” reportedly stopped fellow UFC vet Roger Huerta last night at an Ultimate Warrior Fighting card in Pharr, Texas.

According to reports, the man formerly known as Jon Koppenhaver, prompted the referee’s intervention with ground-and-pound strikes in round three. MMA Madman is reporting that Huerta revealed after that he had a cracked rib heading into the fight, and that the rib completely broke during the bout.

Huerta was competing for the first time since October, 2010, when he was stopped by former Bellator lightweight champ Eddie Alvarez. Last night’s loss was Huerta’s third in a row and dropped his overall record to 21-6-1.

With the huge win, “War Machine” moved his record to 12-4 and returned to the winning column, after he was submitted by John Alessio in July, 2010.

UWF 1 also saw former UFC champion Dave Menne in action, and the 37 year-old vet recorded is 45th pro win by tapping out Eric Davila with a first round, guillotine choke.

The win was Menne’s second consecutive victory and the fourth in his last five fights.
