Alistair Overeem and Junior dos Santos will have to wait even longer before they fight, as the former Strikeforce champ has reportedly suffered an injury and has been forced to withdraw from UFC 160.

The undisclosed injury will apparently sideline Overeem for up to five weeks, and as a result, the decorated fighter will not battle the former UFC champ on May 25th as scheduled. News of Overeem’s injury was reported first by MMA Fighting, which cited sources close to the Dutch heavyweight.

The UFC has not made any official announcement regarding the reported injury.

Overeem and dos Santos were scheduled to fight last May, however, Overeem was not granted a license by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, after a pre-fight drug test revealed an elevated testosterone-to-episterone ratio. Overeem and his representatives blamed the result on a medical treatment he was receiving for a rib injury.

UFC 160 will be hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
