Former Strikeforce heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem will reportedly have to undergo 50 hours of community servce and anger management counseling, as a result of an incident on New Year’s weekend.

According to a report from the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Overeem received the aforementioned penalties due to a battery charge that stemmed from the incident, when he allegedly pushed a woman at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas on January 2^nd.

The decorated fighter reportedly also received a suspended 90 day sentence. As a result, if Overeem satisfies the conditions that have been assigned to him, the matter will be dismissed.

The 31 year-old Overeem was not in attendance at today’s sentencing, as the Dutch fighter attended a press conference at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino this morning to promote his May 26^th bout with UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior Dos Santos.

On December 30^th, Overeem made his Octagon debut at UFC 141 in Las Vegas, and put away former champion Brock Lesnar with strikes in under three minutes.
