UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem

Alistair Overeem’s second fight of 2013 will reportedly take place August 17th at UFC on FS 1, and not at UFC 164 a couple of weeks later as originally thought. According to multiple reports the decorated heavyweight will battle Travis Browne at the event, which will be hosted by Boston’s TD Garden Arena.

Overeem (36-12) will look to rebound from the stunning knockout loss he incurred versus Antonio “Big Foot” Silva at UFC 156 in February. The former Strikeforce and K-1 champion was booked to fight Junior dos Santos at this Saturday’s UFC 160 card, but had to withdraw due to injury.

Browne (14-1-1) KO’d former contender Gabriel Gonzaga in his last outing, at the TUF 17 Finale last month, after he was stopped by “Big Foot” at UFC on FX 5 last October.

The heavyweight tilt will not be the card’s main event.
