Report: Anderson Silva – Kelvin Gastelum Planned For UFC’s First Card in Shanghai

According to reports, the UFC is hoping to have Anderson Silva fight Kelvin Gastelum at the promotion’s first ever event in Shanghai, China.

Silva and Gastelum were booked to fight earlier this year at UFC 212 in June. But, Gastelum was flagged by USADA for marijuana, and was pulled from the bout.

FloCombat is reporting that a Silva – Gastelum fight is targeted for the November 25th card in Shanghai, and MMA Fighting‘s also confirmed that the fighters have agreed to battle at the upcoming card.

Silva (34-8) is coming off a decision win over Derek Brunson in February, while Gastelum (13-3) was submitted by Chris Weidman in his last outing, last month. After that fight, Gastelum said he planned to leave the middleweight division and return to welterweight, but that appears to not be the case.
