Following Anderson Silva’s stoppage loss to Chris Weidman at UFC 168, there have been indications he is planning to fight again, and now the former champ has reportedly said that’s his intention.

In a recent interview with the Brazilian media outlet Globo, Silva reportedly noted (transcription via MMA Fighting.com):

“(You should stop fighting) when you feel you need to stop, when your body and head says that. I think I still have a lot of things to do. I don’t plan to stop now. I’m getting stronger every day, and I will be back soon.”

In addition, Silva was asked whether he considers what happened at UFC 168 as a defeat. The 38 year-old severely broke his leg in round two when Weidman checked a leg kick he was attempting.

“No, I don’t think (Weidman should consider it a win). It was an accident. And I’m pretty sure I would have won the fight.”

The Brazilian did concede that some “technical mistakes” were made in the fight, but argued that Weidman checked the kick out of “instinct.”

The December 28th loss to Weidman followed Silva’s knockout defeat to the middleweight champion at UFC 162 in July.
