By FCF Staff
Not far removed from Anthony Johnson’s thrilling, KO win at Bellator 258, it’s being reported the fighter’s been arrested over the alleged use of a stolen credit card.
The 37-year-old Johnson, who finished José Augusto last weekend in the second round, was reportedly arrested in Fairfield County, Connecticut, Friday. The former UFC contender has been arrested due to suspected third-degree identity theft, for allegedly purchasing an airplane ticket with an unauthorized credit card.
The alleged crime took place in November 2019, and Johnson’s arrest is being reported by multiple outlets, including The Daily Voice and ESPN.
Johnson has been released on bond and as this is being written, neither the fighter’s team or Bellator has issued a statement.
The light heavyweight, who is expected to fight Bellator champ Vadim Nemkov later this year, is scheduled to appear in court on June 8.
