Although it was public knowledge that Anthony Pettis injured his knee earlier this year, and was unable to fight Jose Aldo at UFC 162 as a result, the lightweight champ has revealed he had a shoulder injury at UFC 164.

While appearing on the latest edition of “The MMA Hour“, Pettis disclosed that he separated his shoulder two weeks before he submitted Benson Henderson on August 31st. The fighter added that the injury took place while he was rolling with his jiu-jitsu instructor Daniel Wanderley.

The 26 year-old also relayed that he was not in serious discomfort on fight night; however, he was unable to spar the last two weeks of his camp.

Pettis says the injury will not interfere with his preparation for UFC on FOX 9 on December 14th, when he faces Josh Thomson.
