By FCF Staff
It looks like Anthony Smith will be the next man who tries to hand Vitor Petrino his first professional defeat, as it’s being reported the longtime contender will face the rising light-heavyweight.
Petrino recently moved his record to 11-0 by recording a unanimous decision win over Tyson Pedro at a UFC Fight Night card on March 2nd.
According to a report from Laerte Viana MMA, and a follow-up report from MMA Fighting, Petrino and Smith have agreed to fight at the May 3rd, UFC 301 card in Rio de Janeiro. The latter report cites multiple sources confirming the match-up.
The 26-year-old Petrino has gone 4-0 to date in the UFC and is currently ranked #15 in the promotion’s light-heavyweight rankings.
Smith (37-19), meanwhile, is coming off a stoppage loss to Khalil Rountree Jr. in December. The 35-year-old, former title challenger, has gone 2-3 in his last 5 contests and is ranked #10.
