Just days after the UFC announced that Alexander Gustafsson will fight fellow light-heavyweight contender Antonio Rogerio Nogueira on March 8th, comes word that the latter has withdrawn due to injury. The bout was scheduled to take place at the 02 Arena in London, England.

According to a report from MMA Fighting.com, “Lil Nog” will not be able to compete due to an ongoing back injury. The report cites UFC President Dana White as one of the sources. The UFC has yet to determine a replacement.

Nogueira also withdrew from a scheduled bout with “Shogun” Rua this past June due to issues with his back. The 37 year-old vet hasn’t fought since February when he earned a unanimous decision win over Rashad Evans.
