Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva

Although Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva has been calling for a bout with Josh Barnett, it looks like he’ll face another decorated, heavyweight vet.

According to reports, Silva and UFC heavyweight champ Andrei Arlovski have verbally agreed to square off at UFC Fight Night 51 on September 13th. The bout was reported first by the Brazilian outlet Globo.

The fight will reportedly headline the upcoming event, which will go down in Brasilia, Brazil. The UFC has not made any official announcement regarding the bout.

Arlovski (22-10) is coming off a controversial, split decision win over Brendan Schaub at UFC 174 last month, which marked the first time he’s fought in the Octagon since 2008.

The 35 year-old vet is 4-1 in his last 5 fights.

Silva (18-5-1), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since December, when he battled Mark Hunt to a majority draw. “Bigfoot” tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone following the event, however, and has been suspended since.

The 34 year-old fighter’s suspension is set to end in early September.

Silva worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Arlovski in 2010, when the two were fighting under the Strikeforce banner.

The only man to defeat Silva in his last five fights is reigning UFC champ Cain Velasquez.
