Only days removed from the news that Bellator featherweight contender Daniel Strauss will not fight Pat Curran in April due to a broken hand, reports have surfaced stating that the fighter has been arrested on drug and traffic charges.

According to multiple reports, Strauss was arrested Friday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and was charged with driving on a suspended license, possession of over 20 grams of cannabis or 3 grams of synthetic cannabis, drug paraphernalia possession or use, and possession of MDMA. The reports cite the Broward’s Sheriff’s Office as their source.

Bellator has not made any official comment regarding the situation.

The 28 year-old Strauss (21-4) is coming off a submission win over Alvin Robinson in October, after defeating Jeremy Spoon, Mike Corey and Marlon Sandro to earn a bout with the champion Curran.

Curran is now set to fight recent tourney winner Shabulat Shamhalaev on April 4th.
