Bellator is getting set to resume holding events, and it’s being reported the MMA promotion will likely be working with Showtime Boxing in its return.

Showtime Sports executive Stephen Espinoza had talked about the possibility of Bellator and Showtime Boxing teaming up for cross-promotional events in the past. But, according to a report from MMA Fighting, plans are underway for the ViacomCBS entities to partner up, beginning July 24th.

Bellator’s plan to resume operations on July 24th was initially reported by Sherdog.

Although the events are not finalized, the expectation is that the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut will host cards for a three-month span.

Bellator President Scott Coker recently reported that the partnership could see MMA fighters competing in boxing matches, and vice-versa.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Bellator has not held an event since February.
