The free agent market has received one of MMA’s most experienced heavyweights, as Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and the UFC have decided to part ways.

Silva is coming off a KO loss to Roy Nelson in September, which was the veteran’s fifth stoppage loss in his last six fights. The bout concluded Silva’s contract with the UFC.

According to a report from MMA Junkie.com, a representative for Silva says the promotion and the fighter have mutually agreed to not negotiate a new deal.

Recently Silva’s manager Alex Davis told the outlet that he expects “Bigfoot” will look to compete in Russia or Japan, if he didn’t resign with the UFC. The 37 year-old has gone 3-6-1 in his last 10 bouts.
