Report: Boxing Trainer Freddie Roach Says GSP is Planning Six Week Test Camp

Georges St. Pierre

By FCF Staff

Last month Georges St-Pierre said he’s thinking about returning to the Octagon “more and more”, and now one of his coaches is reporting that the star is planning to do a test training camp.

St-Pierre hasn’t fought since November, 2013, when he worked his way to a split decision win over Johny Hendricks. After the bout the fighter vacated the UFC’s welterweight title and announced he was taking a hiatus from fighting. St-Pierre has stopped short of saying he was going to fight again in recent weeks, but clearly the Canadian is seriously considering it.

Case in point, Fight Hub TV recently caught up with renowned boxing trainer Freddie Roach, who has worked with GSP over the years. Roach proceeded to report that St-Pierre is planning to do a six week, test camp, and will determine afterwards if he wants to return for another fight.

Since St-Pierre announced his hiatus, he has undergone a second knee surgery, and did not train for much of 2014 as a result.
