Report: Brendan Schaub “100 Percent” Positive he’d Defeat Brock Lesnar
By FCF Staff
Although it remains to be seen if Brock Lesnar will return to the UFC, if the pro-wrestler does, Brendan Schaub is “100 percent” certain he could defeat the heavyweight.
For several months now, speculation as to whether Lesnar might make another UFC run has been rampant, due to the fact his contract with the WWE is reportedly coming to an end. Schaub appeared on the “Jason Ellis Show” recently, and while discussing Lesnar, the UFC vet stated (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“Doing fake wrestling is not the same as being in the UFC. You’re playing grab ass,” Schaub said. “You know if you’re going to win or lose. Yeah, it’s hard on your body. Great. He hasn’t been competing and training like I have. If he comes back to the UFC, I would 100 percent send him packing back to the fake wrestling.”
Schaub reportedly went on to acknowledge that Lesnar would have success fighting again, due to his explosiveness, size and wrestling abilities.
Lesnar hasn’t competed in the UFC now since December, 2011, when he was stopped by Alistair Overeem. After the loss, the heavyweight cited his battle with diverticulitis, as a contributing factor in his decision to stop fighting.
Schaub, meanwhile, is coming off a stoppage loss to Travis Browne in December.
