Despite attempts from a union group to prevent Chael Sonnen from competing at the August 17th, UFC Fight Night in Boston, the light-heavyweight will fight “Shogun” Rua as scheduled.

Sonnen has reportedly been licensed by the Massachusetts State Athletic Commission Thursday, after a complaint was filed by Unite Here, regarding the fighter’s previous conviction on a money laundering charge. According to MMA Junkie.com, the Commission also reviewed Sonnen’s use of testosterone replacement therapy, and found no issue with the procedures.

UFC Fight Night 26 will be hosted by Boston’s TD Garden Arena, and will also feature Alistair Overeem taking on rising heavyweight Travis Browne.
