Report: Chan Sung Jung Could be Returning to UFC Before Year is Out
By FCF Staff
After two plus years away from the Octagon, Chan Sung Jung is reportedly planning to return to the UFC, and could do so, before the year is out.
Jung (13-4) hasn’t fought since August, 2013, when he was stopped by then featherweight champ, Jose Aldo. The South Korean injured his shoulder in the fight, and since then, he’s been fulfilling his mandatory military service.
According to a new report from MMA Fighting.com, however, sources have told the outlet that the 29 year old’s military service will end in October. As a result, the well rounded fighter is hoping to fight again in late 2016, or early 2017.
“The Korean Zombie” was tapped for a title shot after finishing Leonard Garcia, Mark Hominick and Dustin Poirier in consecutive fights.
