Recently Chris Weidman confirmed that he’s moving up from middleweight to light-heavyweight, and now it looks like the former champ has his first bout at 205.

ESPN is reporting that verbal agreements are in place – according to sources – for Weidman and Reyes to fight on October 18th in Boston. Both fighters have also tweeted about the contest since news of the fight was reported.

Weidman (14-4) will be competing for the first time since November, when he was stopped by “Jacare” Souza. The accomplished wrestler is 1-4 in his last 5 bouts.

Reyes (11-0) worked his way to a tightly contested, split decision win over Volkan Oezdemir in his last bout, which took place in March. The rising fighter has gone 5-0 to date in the UFC.
