Since Saturday’s memorable and controversial battle between Johny Hendricks and Georges St. Pierre, there’s been no shortage of reports and speculation as to what is the cause of the latter’s personal issues. While the UFC welterweight champ’s former manager Shari Spencer has recently stated she is not one of his problems, according to a new report, Spencer is set to receive large sums of money from St. Pierre via a lawsuit.

In a follow up story from FOX Sports.com, court documents (obtained by TMZ.com) indicate that St. Pierre was forced to pay Spencer over $700,000 as a result of a civil law suit earlier this year. In addition, the renowned fighter will reportedly have to pay his former manager 20% of various pay-per-view revenues and royalties tied to a UFC merchandising deal. Spencer will also receive 5% of future earning of a various sponsorship deals she negotiated for St. Pierre.

Of course, none of this means that this is the issue St. Pierre recently cited, as to why he plans to take a break from fighting. The fighter is believed to be one of the highest paid athletes in all of MMA, and further, the suit is not a recent development.

After reports surfaced this weekend that the suit could be the cause of St. Pierre’s issues, Spencer tweeted “@GeorgesStPierre may have 99 problems, but I ain’t one #learntofactcheck”.

St. Pierre defended the welterweight title via split decision at UFC 167, which was hosted by the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
