Report: CSAC Executive Office George Dodd Resigns

By FCF Staff

A couple of weeks after it was revealed that the California State Athletic Commission ‘s Executive Officer George Dodd was being censured, due to the organization being heavily in debt, the official has reportedly decided to resign.

Dodd has informed the CSAC of his decision that July 31st will be his last day as Executive Officer. In a report from FightOpion.com, Dodd’s resignation and subsequent correspondence via email were posted, which included the following comments:

At this stay of my career I feel that its time to move onto new opportunities and challenges that are not available to me here. I appreciate the opportunities I have been given here, and wish the commission much success in the future.

The report also included an internal memo from Dodd, whereby he acknowledged that the commission is going through some “difficult times”, but that he’s optimistic the organization will continue to be “productive.”

The official also relayed his contention that the CSAC “has come a long way” since he has been the organization’s executive officer.

In June, a memo from California’s Department of Consumer Affairs revealed that the CSAC is expected to be $700,000 in debt by next year.
