After closing out his UFC deal in December, it’s being reported that Cub Swanson is resigning with the UFC, and that a rematch with Frankie Edgar is close to being finalized.

Swanson entered free agency after he was submitted by Brian Ortega in December. According to a new report from ESPN, Swanson is expected to resign with the UFC, and sources say that an April 21st bout with Edgar is almost official.

The featherweights fought in 2014 and Edgar won the bout via fifth round, submission. Edgar was knocked out by Ortega earlier this month at UFC 222.

The April 21st card will take place in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
