For some time now the MMA community has been monitoring the health issues of Dan Miller’s son Danny Jr., who was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD) at birth. The UFC veteran and his family are reporting that Danny Jr. is recovering well from a kidney transplant he underwent Thursday.

Speaking via his official Twitter account, Dan Miller reported: “Surgery went well today, never thought I’d be so happy to see some pee!”

According to a post Kristen Miller made on her official Facebook post, her son lost all kidney function in March, 2010, until undergoing surgery Thursday.

The  Fund a Fighter organization currently has a page for Miller and his family to help raise funds for their ongoing medical costs.

Miller had been scheduled to fight Sean Pierson at UFC 152 on September 22nd, but when the family received the news that Danny Jr. would finally undergo the kidney transplant, he withdrew from the card.
