Report: Dana White Says Jon Jones One Night in Rehab Story “Not Necessarily the Case”

Jon Jones

A recent report that said Jon Jones spent just one night in rehab isn’t “necessarily the case”, according to UFC President Dana White.

Earlier in the week, Binghamton’s WBNG ran an exclusive interview with Jones’ mother, and in the report, it relayed that Jones’ had stayed at drug treatment facility for one night. The UFC Light-Heavyweight Champ announced he was checking himself into a drug program earlier this month, after he tested positive for cocaine metabolites in December.

The Boston Herald recently spoke with White, however, and in the report he said it wasn’t “necessarily the case” that Jones’ rehab stint was just one night. In addition, the ZUFFA exec stated:

“When the whole story comes out, people will understand, it will be put into perspective,” White said. “When Jon Jones comes out and does his interview, the truth will come out, and everyone will understand. Or they won’t, you know. Jon is a very polarizing guy, people either love him or they hate him. Either way, the truth will come out soon.”

White did not want to comment further on the situation. News of Jones’ positive drug test surfaced just days after the champion worked his way to a unanimous decision win over Daniel Cormier on January 3rd.

The UFC is holding a Fight Night card in Boston on Saturday, and in the main event, Conor McGregor will battle fellow, featherweight contender Dennis Siver.
