Daniel Cormier’s last Strikeforce bout has been set, as the heavyweight grand-prix winner will compete on a September 29th card in Sacramento, California. The event was announced during the promotion’s broadcast last night.

No opponent has been confirmed for Cormier, who currently is the last heavyweight remaining in the organization, since the division was closed up for business last year by Zuffa.

Despite the heavyweight division’s closure, the 33 year-old fighter is contracted to fight one more time in Strikeforce, as part of the promotion’s broadcasting agreement with Showtime.

The decorated wrestler has gone undefeated in ten professional bouts since transitioning into MMA in 2009.

In the last two years, Cormier has positioned himself as a leading heavyweight in the sport by scoring wins over established vets like Antonio Silva, Jeff Monson and most recently Josh Barnett.
