It looks like Deiveson Figueiredo won’t be waiting long until his next title defense, following his submission win at UFC 255 on Saturday.

The flyweight champion took on Alex Perez at the event and he submitted the contender with a first round, guillotine choke. Earlier in the card, Brandon Moreno stopped Brandon Royval in round one.

Following the event, UFC President Dana White said that the promotion was hoping to book Figueiredo (20-1) for a quick, turn-around fight (quote via MMA Junkie).

“We’re going to keep (Figueiredo) here,” White told reporters. “He’s not going back to Brazil. We’re going to turn him right around (in) December. That’s what we’re working on.”

Since then, ESPN has reported that the champion and Moreno (18-5-1) have verbally agreed to fight at the December 12th, UFC 256 card.

The card will take place at the Apex Facility in Las Vegas.
