Report: Dennis Siver Suspended, UFC 168 Win Overturned as Result of Failed Drug Test
By FCF Staff
As expected would be the case, Dennis Siver has had his win over Manny Gamburyan at UFC 168 overturned and has been suspended for nine months, as a result of failing his post fight drug test.
Siver worked his way to a unanimous decision victory over Gamburyan in December, but tested positive for human chorionic gonadotropin following the bout. Siver has also been fined $19,800 (or 30% of his purse) by the Nevada State Athletic Commission, according to a report from MMA Junkie.com.
After news of his failed drug test surfaced in March, Siver claimed he was unaware that he was taking hCG, and blamed a new training regiment and nutritionist for the incident.
With the NSAC’s decision, Siver’s record stands at 22-8, with 1 no contest.
