Although the UFC granted Khabib Nurmagomedov his wish, and was booking him to fight Donald Cerrone next, a reported knee injury has already cancelled the bout.

Nurmagomedov called out Cerrone following the latter’s stoppage win over Jim Miller at UFC Fight Night 45. According to multiple reports, UFC President Dana White confirmed in Dublin today that the promotion had made the fight. White proceeded to relay, however, that the fight is already off, as a result of Nurmagomedov getting injured.

“That is supposed to be true, that fight is made — it’s done,” White was quoted saying by MMA Fighting.com. “Twenty minutes later, [Nurmagomedov] went into the gym and blew his knee out. Twenty. F—ing. Minutes. Later.”

White was not aware of the extent of Nurmagomedov’s injury. The undefeated lightweight’s team has yet to comment on the fighter’s status.

Nurmagomedov (22-0) has won six straight fights since joining the UFC, and is currently ranked #4 in the promotion’s 155 division.
