It looks like Donald Cerrone will face one of the UFC’s top, rising lightweights in his return to the 155 division.
Cerrone has been saying for some time now that he plans to return to the lightweight division, after moving to welterweight back in 2016. According to a report from MMA Junkie, Cerrone and Alex Hernandez have verbally agreed to fight at the UFC’s ESPN+ debut, January 19th in Brooklyn.
The 35-year-old Cerrone (34-11, 1 no-contest) is coming off a submission win over Mike Perry in November, after losing by decision to Leon Edwards in June.
Hernandez (10-1), meanwhile, earned a decision win over Olivier Aubin-Mercier in July to extend his winning streak to eight.
The January 19th card will also feature bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw challenging flyweight champ, Henry Cejudo.
