Report: DREAM and One FC Have Formed Partnership

Dream Lightweight Champion Shinya Aoki

Amidst continued speculation regarding the financial stability and future of DREAM, reports are surfacing that the Japanese based promotion has entered into a formal partnership with the region’s rising organization One FC.

According to MMA-Japan.com and a follow up report from MMA Weekly, the promotions are expected to announce their new partnership in the coming days.

Over the last few weeks, One FC has continued to forge partnerships with various MMA promotions, brands and gyms throughout Asia, to create what it has called ‘the largest MMA network in history.”

Some of the promotions currently partnered with the network include Australia’s Cage Fighting Championship, South Korea’s ROAD Fighting Championship, the Thailand based DARE Fightsports, and Singapore’s Juggernaut FC, amongst many others.

The One FC network and its various promotions are expected to host approximately 50 shows in 2012. One FC is scheduled to promote its second card, February 11th in Indonesia.

The growing organization’s first event took place in Singapore this past September, and featured established vets like Yoshiyuki Yoshida, Phil Baroni, and Gregor Gracie.

Due to the well documented financial difficulties of FEG, DREAM’s parent company, the new partnership with One FC could foster more stability for the promotion.

DREAM is currently scheduled to host a New Year’s Eve event in Saitama, Japan.
