Eddie Wineland is hoping to return to the Octagon, and rebound from his knockout loss to Johnny Eduardo in May, but the bantamweight still isn’t sure if he’ll fight again.

Wineland suffered a broken jaw in his loss to Eduardo, which marked the second time the rugged contender has incurred the injury since he started fighting. Shortly after the loss, the 29 year-old relayed his future in fighting was in doubt, due to the injury’s complications.

In a follow up interview with MMA Junkie.com, Wineland has confirmed that he intends to fight again, if his jaw recovers fully and there are no subsequent issues. The full time firefighter added that there’s “No way in hell would I ever to chose to walk away on those terms,” while referencing his loss to Eduardo.

Wineland is 3-2 in his last 5 fights, and is currently ranked #5 in the UFC’s bantamweight division.

In September, Wineland faced now former champ Renan Barao at UFC 165, and was stopped in the second round. Prior to that the noted striker scored wins over Brad Pickett and Scott Jorgensen.
