UFC featherweight Eddie Yagin has reportedly been hospitalized after the fighter began experiencing headaches and vomiting after training this weekend. As a result, Yagin will not fight Dennis Siver at the upcoming, December 8th, UFC on FOX 5 card in Seattle as scheduled.

According to a report from MMA Weekly, Yagin’s family has informed the fighter’s manager Jason House that the veteran has been diagnosed with swelling of the brain. Although at this juncture it’s not believed that surgery will be required, Yagin will be kept in hospital for a few days to be monitored.

House, who is part of the Iridium Sports Agency, tweeted that Yagin had been admitted to the ER due a “head injury he suffered in training.” In a follow up post, House relayed that Yagin “is doing better” and that “hopefully he’ll be out in a couple of days.”

The UFC has not made any official announcement regarding Yagin’s hospitalization or a possible replacement opponent for Siver.

The Hawaiian born fighter hasn’t competed since April, when he worked his way to a split decision win over Mark Hominick, which was the card’s “Fight of the Night.”

Yagin (16-5) has gone 1-1 to date in the UFC.
