Report: Estimates for UFC 174 PPV Buys Among Lowest in Modern Era

Heading into UFC 174 critics questioned how the June 14th event would do in pay-per-view buys, and it looks as though the event struggled as many predicted.

The event, which featured flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson decisioning Ali Bagautinov in the headliner, is believed to have draw between 95,000 and 115,000 buys (according to a report from MMA Fighting.com). If accurate, that would make the event one of the lowest selling PPVs for the UFC in its modern era.

The promotion’s parent company, ZUFFA, does not publicly disclose its PPV sales.

Johnson, who has drawn solid ratings for FOX during his title reign, was headlining a UFC PPV for the first time.

The card also featured Rory MacDonald scoring a decision win over Tyron Woodley and Ryan Bader defeating Rafael Cavalcante by UD.

UFC 174 was hosted by Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia.
