Recently it was announced that Fedor Emelianenko’s return will take place with former Pride boss Nobuyuki Sakakibara’s new promotion, and it looks as though the renowned heavyweight won’t be facing an established, MMA fighter.

Although no official announcement has been made regarding Emelianenko’s opponent, according to a report from MMA Fighting.com, sources say “The Last Emperor” will likely take on kickboxer, Jaideep Singh.

The 6’6 tall Singh has a record of 40-10, with 1 no contest, in kickboxing bouts. The 28 year-old is 1-0 in MMA fights. Singh, who is the 2009 K-1 World Grand Prix in Seoul Champion, has lost three straight fights.

The 39 year-old Emelianenko (34-4) will be fighting for the first time since 2012, when he stopped Pedro Rizzo.

The report also says that Sakakibara’s new organization will hold three consecutive shows on December 29th, 30th and 31st. A catchweight fight between Japanese stars Shinya Aoki and Kazushi Sakuraba will headline the first event.
