Report: Fedor Emelianenko Suggests Next Bout Could Take Place in Russia

Fedor Emelianenko

By FCF Staff

Fedor Emelianenko has yet to sign his next fight, but in a recent interview, the former PRIDE champ suggested that a bout in his native Russia could happen.

Emelianenko returned to the ring this past New Year’s Eve, and while fighting for Rizin in Japan, the heavyweight stopped Jaideep Singh. The Russian star is expected to fight for Rizin again, but no details as to when and where it will happen have been made official.

Recently “The Last Emperor” spoke to Tass.ru, and while discussing his next fight, Emelianenko stated (quote via Bloody Elbow.com):

“We are planning a lot of things. God willing, we can even fight in Russia,” Fedor said. “I would like to fight in front of my fellow countrymen.”

The 39 year-old fighter is currently riding a four fight winning streak and has a record of 35-4.
