By FCF Staff
After losing scheduled opponents Ian McCall and John Dodson due to injury, Scott Jorgensen will reportedly battle Octagon newcomer Zach Makovsky at UFC on FOX 9, December 14th.
The new flyweight match-up is being reported by multiple outlets, after MMA Weekly.com relayed Makovsky’s UFC signing Tuesday.
Makovsky (16-4) is coming off decision wins over Claudio Ledesma and Matt Manzanares, the latter of which landed “Fun Size” the Resurrection Fighting Alliance flyweight title.
The 31 year-old fighter was let go by Bellator in 2012, after losing consecutive bouts to Eduardo Dantas and Anthony Leone. Prior to the losses, Makovsky had won six straight with the promotion including the Bellator bantamweight belt.
Jorgensen (14-7) is coming off a fourth round, submission loss to Urijah Faber in April, after tapping out John Albert in round one at UFC on FOX 5 last December.
The December 14th scrap with Makovsky will be Jorgensen’s flyweight debut.
UFC on FOX 9 will be hosted by Sacramento, California and will feature flyweight champ Demetrious Johnson taking on Joseph Benavidez in the main event.
