After going 3-0 in 2012 to extended his winning streak to four, former Sengoku featherweight champ Masanori Kanehara reportedly has his eyes set on fighting in the UFC this year. The 30 year-old-fighter, who has won all of his last four bouts by TKO or submission, has been competing at bantamweight.

Kanehara (21-10) told MMAWeekly:

“I know I am the best bantamweight in Japan, so I would like to fight these best bantamweights around the world, especially these in the UFC.”

Since losing back to back fights to Marlon Sandro and Yoshiro Maeda in 2010, under the Sengoku banner, Kanehara has gone 5-1. More recently the vet has been competing for DEEP.

The bantamweight has scored wins over notable fighters like Chan Sung Jung, Norifumi Yamamoto, and Michihiro Omigawa during his career.
