Report: Former WWE Champ Dave Bautista Set to Make MMA Debut

By FCF Staff

Former WWE champ and pro wrestling star Dave Bautista has talked about his desire to compete in mixed-martial-arts for some time, and it appears as though the man nicknamed “Batista” will do just that in October.

According to a report from TMZ.com today, “Batista” will make his MMA debut against heavyweight Rashid Evans at a CES MMA League event card in Providence Rhode Island.

The bout will reportedly take place October 6th.

In 2010, there were rumors that the 6’6, 290 pound aspiring fighter was in negotiations with Strikeforce, however, no bout was ever confirmed.

The TMZ report furthers that the 43 year-old Bautista’s MMA debut will be televised, however, details were not available.
