Report: Georges St-Pierre Says He’s Thinking About Fighting Again “More And More”

Georges St-Pierre

Georges St-Pierre hasn’t said he’s returning to the Octagon, but the former welterweight champ has relayed he’s seriously thinking about making a comeback.

St-Pierre announced he was taking a break from fighting, and vacating the title, after he decisioned Johny Hendricks in November, 2013. The 34 year-old has admitted in recent months that he’s thought about fighting again, but has never said he would.

Recently GSP spoke to the French Canadian sports network, RDS, and according to a report from MMA Fighting.com, he relayed the following:

“I’m starting to get the feeling, more and more, to come back,” St-Pierre said. “I watch the fights to see what’s going on in my division, and I’m staying in shape. It’s like a knife that I have to keep sharp just in case I ever decide to jump back in the mix. It’s not for sure that it won’t happen in 2015, but I’m not sure yet.”

In the past, St-Pierre said he wouldn’t return to the UFC unless more was done to clean up performance enchancing drugs. Both the promotion and the Nevada Comission have introduced more stringent policies since then, and GSP has praised those efforts.

“Rush” is currently riding a 12 fight winning streak.
