By FCF Staff

Georges St-Pierre may be taking a break from MMA competition and recovering from knee surgery, but the renowned fighter continues to build on his resume.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, St-Pierre is going to star in a remake of the 1989 cult classic, “Kickboxer.” Professional wrestler Dave Bautista is also going to be cast in the movie.

St-Pierre has acknowledged repeatedly that he’s a fan of actor and martial artist, Jean-Claude Van Damme, who starred in the original “Kickboxer” film.

The report did not say what role St-Pierre will be taking. Alain Moussi will play the film’s lead.

GSP announced he was vacating the UFC title last year, due to personal reasons, not long after he decisioned Johny Hendricks at UFC 167. More recently, St-Pierre underwent surgery to repair his knee and it remains to be seen if and when he’ll fight again.

St-Pierre has also appeared in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”.
