It’s being reported that Yancy Medeiros is returning to the lightweight division, and that he’ll do so, against one of the UFC’s rising 155’ers.

According to a report from Newsday, Medeiros is going to face Gregor Gillespie at the UFC’s January 19th card in Brooklyn, New York.

Gillespie (12-0) has gone 5-0 to date in the Octagon, and he’s coming off a submission win over  Vinc Pichel in June.

Medeiros (15-5-1) hasn’t fought since February when he was stopped by Donald Cerrone. Prior to that Medeiros had won three straight, after moving up from 155 to welterweight.

UFC Brooklyn will feature bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw challenging flyweight champion Henry Cejudo.
