Report: GSP Argues “There Are Different Ways of Being Hungry” in Response to Dana White

Georges St-Pierre

By FCF Staff

Dana White has gone on record saying he doesn’t think Georges St-Pierre is hungry to fight again, and now the former welterweight champ has responded.

Recently St-Pierre announced that he intends to hold a six week, test training camp, as a means to gauge whether he’ll return to the UFC. The news quickly made headlines throughout the MMA world, since it is GSP’s biggest step toward to fighting again, since he announced his hiatus in 2013.

When White was informed of GSP’s plans, however, the UFC President argued that a fighter shouldn’t need a test camp to determine if they’re eager to fight or not. Well, recently St-Pierre appeared on “The MMA Hour”, and while discussing White’s comments he stated this (quote via MMA Fighting.com):

“There are different ways of being hungry,” he said. “I still can be hungry, you can be more hungry than people who have nothing. I have so much to lose, because of my pride, the pride is my most important strength, I’m a very proud person, and I would never go back and make a fool of myself be humiliated, because I’m a very proud guy. I have so much to lose, that’s what’s going to makes me hungry, and be willing to do better than anyone, there’s different ways to be hungry.”

The 34 year-old St-Pierre hasn’t fought since November, 2013, when he narrowly defeated Johny Hendricks by split decision. The Canadian has won 12 straight bouts.
