Dana White has said he’s shocked by Georges St. Pierre’s criticisms of how performance enhancing drugs are tested in MMA, but the latter says he relayed his concerns to the UFC previously.

Since St. Pierre announced he was vacating the welterweight title, the decorated fighter has said personal issues, as well as his concerns about PEDs, led to his decision. White, however, has said GSP only cited personal issues as to why he decided to walk away from fighting.

Well, while appearing on the “The MMA Hour” Monday, St. Pierre said he told White and ZUFFA co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta about his concerns regarding PEDs.

“I said it even before when I met with them. This, I swear,” St.Pierre said.. “I met them after my fight with Johny Hendricks when I went in the back. I said that to them. I said it to them, I swear on myself and my family.”

St. Pierre went on to say that he’s part of the UFC “family”, and that PEDs are an issue plaguing MMA, due to a lack of systems in the sport. The fighter furthered that there needs to be “random testing by an independent organization that has no interest in the money for the fight.”

The former champion has yet to say whether he’ll fight again, after defeating Hendricks by split decision at UFC 167 in November.
