Report: Henry Cejudo – Jose Aldo Title Fight Booked

Henry Cejudo

By FCF Staff

The expectation has been that former featherweight champ Jose Aldo would challenge bantamweight champ, Henry Cejudo next, and now it’s being reported the fight’s a done deal.

UFC President Dana White has informed ESPN that Aldo will challenge Cejudo at UFC 250, May 9th. The card will take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Other sources have also told the outlet that Aldo and Cejudo have agreed to the fight.

Aldo (28-6) is coming off a split decision loss to Marlon Moraes in December. After the bout, however, Cejudo (15-2) reportedly campaigned for a bout with Aldo since he believes the star in fact, beat Moraes.

Aldo was making his bantamweight debut in the bout.

Cejudo, who is relinquishing the flyweight title, stopped Moraes last June to win the 135 title. The decorated wrestler has been sidelined since due to a shoulder injury.
