Report: Israel Adesanya to Battle Anderson Silva Next
By FCF Staff
It looks like Israel Adesanya is going to face one of MMA’s greatest fighters ever in his next bout, as it’s being reported the UFC has booked a bout between him and Anderson Silva.
According to a report from ESPN, UFC President Dana White has informed the outlet that Adesanya will face Silva at the promotion’s February 9th card in Melbourne, Australia.
Adesanya is coming off a first round, stoppage win over Derek Brunson earlier this month, which moved the vaunted striker’s MMA record to 15-0. The 29-year-old Adesanya has gone 4-0 in the UFC to date.
Silva (34-8, 1 no-contest), meanwhile, hasn’t fought since February, 2017, when he earned a tightly contested, decision win over the aforementioned Brunson. The 43-year-old former middleweight champ has gone 1-3, with 1 no-contest in his last 5 bouts.
